Our goal was to expand the waterfront views and update the downtown Burlington condo with better storage, ample lighting, and quality finishes to meet the aesthetic of our European clients, a professional couple who wanted a new modern look.
The existing galley kitchen was confined by walls so we removed the interior upper cabinets and connecting partition wall to open up the kitchen to the living areas and lake views. An existing pantry closet was removed and replaced with a large pantry-style cabinet built with interior roll outs for maximum storage use.
Great care was taken in fabricating the rift-oak flat panel cabinets; each door and drawer was veneered with a bookmatch pattern for a seamless look. The peninsula was topped with a waterfall style white arabesque granite counter top to contrast the deep blue granite perimeter countertops. Small details like the marble blend stone backsplash were selected to compliment the oak cabinets and the client’s European history.
